As some of you may know, we have been remodeling a house in Henrico over the last six (6) months. Prior to renovating the house, we took the first (6) months of 2017 to sell and move from our home in Church Hill. Unfortunately, taking photos for RCW had been placed on the back burner.
But alas, I finally got some free time and headed out twice this month to catch up on construction projects around town. Hopefully this will serve as a reference point for current construction projects at the end of 2017.
This Gallery update highlights the following projects:
- 600 Canal Place
- Reynolds South Tower
- VCU School of Allied Health Professions
- VCU ICA
- VCU Gladding Residence Center
- Virginia War Memorial Expansion
- 7 West Townhomes
- Demolition of General Assembly Offices
- 1903 East Marshall Street
- Libby Mill
- Multiple Skyline Perspectives

On my way home this evening, I stopped to capture a small photo update of the new Dominion HQ going up on East Cary Street. I was also out on January 16th and took more than 70 new photos. You can review the Gallery photos here:
On Sunday, I took my camera along to capture a small photo update of the new Dominion HQ going up on East Cary Street. I also took a couple of other photos of nearby buildings. Hoping to take some time in January to provide a more comprehensive update for the web site. In the meantime, you can review the Gallery photos here:
I took a handful of photos from the City Hall’s observation deck back in August. I overlooked these photos for awhile, but discovered them last week when I was reviewing photos from last year. Thanks to the recent snowfall, I had time to finally upload this photo set. Enjoy the photo set by clicking on the photo below.
A fairly large update of photos is now up in the November 2015 Gallery. Take a look and enjoy! As always, you can click on the photo below to access it:
No real excuses on the lack of photos, it seems that work, the gym and weekend landscaping chores seem to eat away at a lot of my free time these days. Nonetheless, on July 31st I took a stroll through the neighborhood and snapped a couple photos of the City and Church Hill as the sun was setting. Hope you enjoy this small photos set. I also fixed a small Gallery glitch this evening. If you see anything not working properly, please message me on Facebook.
In the last month, I made it out once to grab some photos. I’m blaming it on the cold weather (6th coldest February ever recorded in Richmond). The photos below are from Powhatan Hill, taken a few days after a 6″ snowfall. Downtown is in the distance, visible through some freezing fog. Enjoy!
2015 will mark the 15th anniversary of RCW in March. My focus this year is not only provide a photo update each month, but to write some additional stories over the year that highlight the changes to downtown since 2000.
In the meantime, a set of of photos from 2 weeks ago is now up in the RCW Gallery. Please select the photo below to access the January 2015 Gallery.
The landscape Downtown, as well as in Manchester, is changing quite a bit these days. A photo update from a two weeks ago is now up in the Photo Gallery. Select the image below to link to the Gallery.
A decent sized update was added tonight for the November 2014 gallery. I took photos of the larger construction projects happening downtown. Select the image below to link to the Gallery.
